Root canal therapy is necessary when the tooth’s nerve becomes significantly affected by infection or decay. This can be extremely painful and, if it is left untreated, it can cause more severe problems. If you suffer from the following symptoms, we ask you to come to Copperstone Dental right away:
- Severe toothache when you chew
- Extreme sensitivity to hot or cold temperatures
- Discoloration in the tooth
- Swelling in the nearby area
- Persistent pimples in the neighboring region
We often recommend having a root canal versus a tooth extraction because a root canal will allow you to keep the tooth, will restore the function of the tooth, and will not cause any damage (now or in the future) to the surrounding teeth. But, if you do not treat the problem right away, the tooth will need to be extracted. Root canal therapy is the process of saving your tooth, and we are here to eliminate your pain and restore your oral health.
Please contact our office to schedule an appointment and learn if a root canal may be right for you. We look forward to working with you!
