If one or more of the teeth is marred by chips, deep stains, visible dental work, or other imperfections, you might want to consult with Copperstone Dental to explore your cosmetic restoration options.

While porcelain dental veneers are a popular option for many people that want a better smile, some teeth might not have sufficient enamel to mount a veneer. In a situation like this, Dr. Matthew Tuft will often recommend having the enamel layer of one or more teeth restored with a porcelain or porcelain-fused-to-metal dental crown in Meridian, Idaho.

The first step involves our dentist examining the tooth to assess the overall health of the tooth. This often includes taking a few X-rays to make sure the pulp and root of the tooth is healthy.

Once any issues with the internal structure have been addressed, our dentist will prepare the tooth by shaping the enamel layer.

Finally, Copperstone Dental will form an impression of the tooth, the neighboring teeth, and your bite pattern. This will be sent to a dental lab, where your new crown is prepared. A temporary crown is placed over the tooth to keep it safe, while you wait for the dental lab to complete your new crown.

Once the dental lab has finished your new crown, Copperstone Dental will call you in for a brief follow-up appointment. The temporary crown is removed and your new permanent crown is cemented in place.
